favorite phrase

Yesterday I finished reading ROOM, by Emma Donoghue.

My favorite phrase from the books goes like this:

It’s called mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter”.

It tickles me pink.

I’ve been saying it to myself over and over all day.

I’m weird, but I don’t mind. So it doesn’t  matter.

See how nicely that works?

Here’s a few more just to prove my point.

A few weeks ago I discovered that I am allergic—

to Henry. ( I edited this photo to take out the previously cross-eyed one. Trust me. It needed to be done.)

Photobucket

That’s Henry on the right. I’m not allergic to Walter Wilson on the left.

And only allergic to Henry when I kiss his whiskers. I end up looking like that picture way up there every time I kiss him. True story.

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

Also, my house is a little dustier than it should be. Probably.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind. Much. So it doesn’t matter. Much.

Baby dumplin’ swipes my phone and takes pictures of herself.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind, so it doesnt matter.

My kids wear their rainboots with their pj’s.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

My kid is weird.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

I’m no Martha Stewart.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter

I’m addicted to chapstick…

Photobucket

and iced-coffee.

Photobucket

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

My blog is all over the place these day. Heartfelt and serious. Stupid and  silly.

Just like me.

But I am practicing mind over matter.

I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

What don’t you mind? What just doesn’t matter today?

Seriously that phrase has been my mantra of late. I have told my kids that mean people are a case of mind over matter.. I don’t mind so they don’t matter.
Life should be treated the same, take the little precious moments and toss the crappy ones..

My car is really dirty, I must not mind because it doesn’t matter! I like this game…I’m going to start using it for everything that doesn’t get done! Yay!

It’s completely dead at work and I have nothing to do except surf the internet and spend money I shouldn’t …

But I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter.

Narci may, but he doesn’t matter today either.

Happy Friday!

Perfect attitude. My housework is all kinds of backed up. But I don’t mind (because I would rather be readin blogs) so it doesn’t matter!

You’re going to start a whole new “I don’t mind, it doesn’t matter’ revolution, babe!
